True Blood Finale, what else?

Sep 14, 2009 17:18

I was going to wait to post my thoughts on last nights season finale of True Blood, but screw it. Here they are and don't expect the warm and fuzzies, there are spoilers for the books, and some speculation about the next season. If you are a Bill fan, avoid this, so we can still be friends.

It's Diet Coke... WITH LIME! )

Ugh. I hated the finale. I'm still angry about it being stupid and boring. I'm just going around saying 'Fucking True Blood. Suuuucked.'

That being said, DIET COKE WITH LIME.

I actually felt like I wasted an hour of my life, which I haven't felt since like ep 5 of the 1st season. And it wasn't even the lack of Eric, it was everything. The fact that the conclusion of Marianne happened so early was fine, but to let the cliffhanger be Bill? Ugh.

Agreed.

I will say, though, that I am excited for next season. Which I think may have been the point of the episode (and possibly this entire season). Still, it feels kind of cheap and manipulative to use the season finale to do nothing but try and get us interested in next season. If the finale's actually good, we'll be excited for next season. Or something. I probably don't make any sense.

No I definitely agree, I was excited for the finale more so because of how it would set up next season, because I knew Marianne would be taken care of and that everyone important would live. That's why it felt like a waste of 30 mins, I mean it was cute to see Arlene apologize to her kids but was it necessary? I think with the books being in Sookie's voice you don't get to know the periphery characters as well, and Ball seems to force them in a little too much, which leads to a bunch of boring scenes. But I am looking forward to next season, and seeing what gets taken from the 3rd book and what changes.

the whole attempt at I guess sexuality between him and the queen? No, just no. I'm sorry I didn't find it sexy, it just kinda weirded me out.

MTE. I was just like DO NOT WANT.

If Eric has to shoulder ANY of Bill’s negative actions from the books I will flip a shit. That’s just disrespectful to the Eric/Eric&Sookie fans, who are in the majority now.

The proposal scene = EPIC FAIL. DNW. The only good thing is that she pretty much said no at first. I don’t care if she took it back a few minutes later and said yes. If her gut instinct wasn’t originally yes then she and Bill aren’t meant to be.

Don’t even get me started on the question about Eric’s appeal that AB answered. :/

I'm glad I wasn't the only one weirded out by Sophie Ann/Eric! I really hope Sookie remembers why she said no at first and goes with that gut instinct, the whole proposal thing is so far away from the books, and it just feels too forced , like she can't care that Bills missing unless they're engaged or something. Eh the whole thing was just bad.

I almost feel like Ball resents the Eric/Sookie fans or something, because of his love for Stephen/Bill, he's trying so hard to force the Bill/Sookie that I kinda think he's missing why a lot of people bother watching the show.
