I was thinking I'd would do inspired fandom-related posts to reminisce on old shows and stuff to keep me busty since we'll still have that period of emptiness even if the negotiations go well.

Ahh, you have so many shows! I'm pretty sure you know which ones I watch ;) But you know, I really loved what you had to say about Friends - nobody ever talks about it anymore, and it was such a huge part of my life! Like, it's depressing, but I could probably say every single line of every single episode with the actors. It was so defining as a sitcom - set a standard that really hasn't been met. I miss it!! *whines* I mean, it was just there, like an old friend to fall back on...like you said, perfect for any occasion, and it always cheers me up, no matter how many times I've seen it.

Oh man, so true. I mean, I watched so many of these episodes like 10 times each on tape when they aired - at least season 9 through 10. And when I just had the earlier seasons on DVD I watched them over and over again. But that doesn't even matter. If I feel like shit or I'm bored, whatever, I can turn it on and even if I've seen it a thousand times I'm still happy. Especially in a world where fandom can be so temporary, especially for me, it's nice to have something that kind of defies that standard and literally works for everything. And it was definitely so defining...I mean, it's a show about friends. That's it. And yet, it's such an amazing idea. There are shows about family, about work, about relationships, etc, and they're fantastic, but it has all those warm fuzzy unconditional concepts that apply to relationships between friends, and it feels so awesome to watch it because of that. And the comedy is perfect...yeah, it's based around stereotypes, but the circumstances and dialogue, etc, all of that is new, and it makes those

I really want to! I didn't like the pilot so I didn't watch anything after that, and now everyone is squeeing about how it's completely awesome and stuff.

I missed the pilot and every airing since, but I caught up with all the episodes (minus the pilot and the first ep- they aren't on the abc website), and I thought it was pretty entertaining.
