Good times

I need to figure something out. Like, some organized worshiping of preexisting television. You know what I mean? Like, something where I could be like, "Hey, no TV tonight because of the strike...I guess I'll do this fandom-related thing instead." I need a plan.

Quest #1: listing all the shows I really heart, and why.

Oh man, so true. I mean, I watched so many of these episodes like 10 times each on tape when they aired - at least season 9 through 10. And when I just had the earlier seasons on DVD I watched them over and over again. But that doesn't even matter. If I feel like shit or I'm bored, whatever, I can turn it on and even if I've seen it a thousand times I'm still happy. Especially in a world where fandom can be so temporary, especially for me, it's nice to have something that kind of defies that standard and literally works for everything. And it was definitely so defining...I mean, it's a show about friends. That's it. And yet, it's such an amazing idea. There are shows about family, about work, about relationships, etc, and they're fantastic, but it has all those warm fuzzy unconditional concepts that apply to relationships between friends, and it feels so awesome to watch it because of that. And the comedy is perfect...yeah, it's based around stereotypes, but the circumstances and dialogue, etc, all of that is new, and it makes those personalities totally hilarious--and it's the interactions between the personality types that makes it so great. I mean, Joey kind of sucked for a reason. When Joey says something stupid, Chandler is supposed to reply with an idiotic sarcastic comment. That's why it's so great; everything just works together.
