Yup. I lol'd at the name of the person who posted the recipe...Skypoodle.

But I subbed udon for chow mein noodles, used zucchini and banana squash, bell peppers, and made my own hoisin sauce (which rocked btw) by following this recipe.

It all turned out very good...for me, a miracle.

Mmm looks delish!

lol, when our internet craps out, Roger creeps on the neighbour's unsecured wireless routers. And at my parents' cottage we don't have internet.. so... The neighbour does. And he's a douchebag so we don't feel bad at all.

That's hilarious, though. She should have named her computer 'skypoodle' instead of using her own name. And no porn? What the hell is wrong with her?? XD

We've been having connectivity issues pretty bad this summer, Grant is always getting kicked off WoW or something, it was driving us nuts. Replaced the modem twice, finally got it working good again and now suddenly we have someone riding piggyback? Just...no.

I wonder if skypoodle has an lj. I really like that name. And I'm only up this late because I spent at least two hours cooking, then drank a bunch of soda and started watching Shippuden in the english dub.

Need sleep soon...

If we hadn't been having computer issues all summer, I might be a bit more tolerant of a little poaching here and there.

I actually used to like my neighbors. Although I'm suspicious that they called animal control because we were leaving our cat outside this summer. It was the cat's choice! He's over 18, old enough to vote, he can fucking lay on my porch all day if he wants! And someone called us in twice saying the cat doesn't have shelter. George did not get to his advanced age by being too dumb to go under the porch when it rains.

Since those neighbors are the only ones to be able to see the porch, I'm a little pissed off that they would call it in. Considering there's a whole stray cat colony living around here, it chaps my ass that my elder statesman of a cat got the AC called on him!

Then again...I could be paranoid.

Passive-aggressive revenge? Perhaps, but why?

Although Grant does tend to walk around in nothing but his underwear and doesn't bother to close the shades or put on pants when he lets the dog out.

Shit, I suppose we should be glad they don't call the cops.

That looks verra yummy! Tonight we had fresh yakisoba noodles with chicken and tons o' veggies, too.

*pounces on hoisin sauce recipe*

I have an awesome Japanese okonomiyaki/bbq sauce recipe to trade, if you'd like?

Share! And your yakisoba recipe too, of course!

This is the basic yakisoba recipe that I use. Thinly-sliced chicken easily subs for pork and so does any combo of veggies that you prefer. I use 'mirin'-type rice wine, and if you can find fresh yakisoba noodles, I highly recommend them because they don't require pre-cooking and they have an addictive chewiness.

Okonomiyaki/BBQ sauce:
1/2 c ketchup
3 Tbl Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 c mirin
1 1/2 Tbl brown sugar
2 tsp soy sauce

Bring all ingredients to a boil in a small pot; reduce and simmer for 3 min. Remove from heat and set aside until needed.

You can tweak this sauce to make it sweeter or sharper to your taste. It's awesome brushed as a glaze over chicken wings, and of course, drizzled over okonomiyaki. It keeps in the fridge in a sealed jar for at least a month.
