Drusilla stops, and sways a moment, like she does when a particularly hard vision hits her. Both Spike and Angel are familiar with this, having seen it thousands of times before.

Well, maybe not thousands, but after a couple of decades, you lose track.

"Oh.. my.." she pants, her eyes snapping open. Pure terror infuses her, and she shrieks, "RUN!" while breaking into a run herself, deeper into the office building, away from the windows that are broken open.

It probably is thousands.

It has been a long time but instinct is hard to fight.

When Drucilla breaks into a run, Spike follows before realizing whatever it is will not likely be able to hurt him.

Angel's right behind, staying close to Dru to make sure this isn't some sort of ploy.

She turns and looks, when she is safely in a hallway. The sunlight reaches out to her, and she throws an arm over her face, preventing damage to her eyes. Her skin starts to sizzle, and she hisses and draws back further into the building, where the unnatural sun blazes outside, killing vampires faster than a child killing ants with a magnifying glass.

When it's over, she smiles brightly at Spike. "I saw the sun, Spike," she coos, oblivious to the burns on her arm. "Wish I could have gone out to play.."

Xander looks up at the suddenly-brightened night sky.

"California's a lot sunnier than I remember."

Giles mutters to himself, ignoring Lindsey and Ethan for the moment.

"...Yes, well, that's one way to handle it, certainly..."

Ethan's gaze follows Giles'.

"Well, I'll be damned," he says, a sly grin forming on his face. "I wonder if our Shadowmen saw that coming?"

"You know something, don't you?" says Lindsey, rising to his feet as the sunlight floods the office. "You've been making hints since Colorado."

But Ethan Rayne says nothing, simply smiling as the daylight flairs in the sky.

Lilah was about to make some crack to Lindsey about Ethan and his knowing things, when the office suddenly filled with sunlight. She smiled and actual genuine smile for the first time in a very long time. It felt like it'd been years since she'd felt the warth on her skin, or seen the sun. She stared out the window as she watched the vamps outside go up in flames.

Cordelia stares out the window, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

There's only one person who she can think of that could have done this.

"She's gotten good," Cordelia observes, watching as a vampire explodes into ash.

She prays that, wherever he is, Angel's away and safe.

Graham Miller has been fighting with a broken arm, and is beginning to waver. He screams as he thrusts his stake into one more opponent, expecting it to be his last. The next vampire is on top of him in an instant.

Then, suddenly, it bursts into flame.

Near his side, Samantha Finn has long run out of crossbow bolts, and has been working a machete as best she can. It reminds her of South America, her home before the vampires came.

When the light falls on her face, and her opponents begin to burn, she jumps back, startled.

She doesn't realize at first that she's crying, but in that instant, she realizes that for a while there, she didn't expect to see daylight again.

The vampires scatter for shadows, and the humans fighting them -- shocked and amazed -- stumble forward to finish those they can before the retreat.

Kate Lockley is still fighting even as the creatures around her ignite. It's unbelievable. At first, she thinks her mind is playing tricks on her.

She stops, and all she can bring herself to say is, "Wow."
