Hello. At some point in the 90s I watched an American movie on British TV about a person who wakes up with amnesia. This reminds me of Sebastien Japrisot's novel 'A Trap for Cinderella'. There was a 1965 film, so maybe that's what you mean? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Trap_for_Cinderella

Ha, I knew someone was going to suggest that! No, it definitely isn't. I've seen that about fifty times! When I said log cabin, I think that could have been a bit misleading. We don't have these kinds of buildings in the UK so I don't have the vocabulary to describle it. Oh, hey, maybe a chalet is what I mean? The big multiple storey kind of thing?

Huh, I suppose so. I always think of lodges as being stone, so that wouldn't have occured to me. Isn't it funny what your brain will do? Lodge -> Masons -> stone

A drama or thriller, I'd say. I've been looking at the amnesia and thriller tags on IMBD with no look so far, but I definitely remember there being a creeping sense of uneasiness in the movie. Things not adding up.

CRAP!! This sounds so familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. Did the man get abusive with the woman when she tried to run away at one point?

Ha, I had to watch a trailer for it to be sure, but no! Thank you for trying, though.
