Italian children's songs

I'm trying to remember two songs that my Italian grandfather used to sing to me when I was very little. His family was from the Abruzzi region, and he moved here (Upstate NY) when he was preschool age. If anyone's heard of either song, that would be fantastic ( Read more... )

"Ninna nanna" seems to be Italian for 'lullaby' - see for instance this page. I don't know if any of those are the one you're thinking of, but having the right spelling is a starting point, at least! :)

Thank you! In my mind, I keep hearing it as "nonna," but obviously that's wrong. ;) I wish my Papa were alive to ask! I'm afraid it may just be a song from his particular town.

I'm in Italy but not familiar with the Abruzzi region.
I can ask friends about the Filomena song (I tried Googling various options but nothing came up), while the input for the second one is a little scant.
Like other users pointed out, it's positively "ninna nanna" (prn NAH-nah, not NO-nna), but "bella poo poo" is probably something else, as "poo" is not italian.
