I hope this is an okay question to ask here, otherwise just tell me!

I wonder what this thin paper material is called that you often use when you make cards or decos. It looks like this:

It is actually the piece of paper glued on the card stock I am looking for the name of. I should have written my question more clearly, sorry!

If that is paper it could be tissue/crepe paper.

However, that actually looks more like fabric to me.

Aha! Well I posted to say it's mulberry paper since it looks like that with the fuzzy edges. Only to realise that an alternative name for mulberry paper is rice paper. So looks like you've already got your answer.

Thanks! I didn't know mulberry paper was the same thing as rice paper! I am not sure it is mulberry paper or rice paper, but I will update when I find out!

Have a look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/papertreats/2347087553/ that's an example of something that can be made of mulberry paper. (Actually I found those bears and went awww cute when I was trying to look for examples of scraps of the paper.) I've never seen anything quite so fuzzy out of paper. But that's why I was thinking it was mulberry paper. Good luck on finding out what it is.

Wow, that is amazing! I had no idea you could make something so fuzzy out of paper. The thing is that I have asked on scrapbook forums, scrapbook stores etc. and no one think it is is mulberry paper. I guess there must be different kinds of mulberry paper though.
