So, the reason they're not bringing any new Ace Attorney games across the lake is because the series sold very poorly in the West.

The biggest reason why this is clearly bullshit is that if you look at Amazon's bestsellers in downloadable games, all of them are mystery stories, with simple interfaces but complex stories. You know, exactly like Ace Attorney. :/
Honestly, the 2nd one sold terribly in Europe (like, unbelievably terribly) because the JP version had an English mode, and everyone who liked the first game over there just imported it (or pirated it). I imagine they're mostly concerned something like that could happen again even if they do advertise.

So basically, the only reason PW isn't as sucessfull as Capcom wants it to be is because...why? Ghost Trick should be popular too, considering it's in the same genre and has the same wonderful writing, but almost noone I know has ever heard of it.

...goddamn pirates. The only reason I pirated Mother 3 is because I knew for a fact it would never see the light of day in America. If I knew it would come out in the states, I'd buy the official copy in a heartbeat just to support its existance. When it comes to videogames, you "vote" to have your favorite series continued by buying earlier releases of it, even if you've already played the entire damn thing on an emulator or some nonsense. Why do people not get this?

It was a little more complex than that- with Ace Attorney 2 it was mostly because the localisation took an incredibly long time for some reason, despite there already being a complete English mode. There was even a time when there were some concerns it might have been cancelled. I can’t really blame the people who did buy it through import services, since they weren't sure they'd be able to buy it at all. (No excuses for the pirates, though

So, basically it's unlikely to come out for the same reason Mother 3 never came out in the west: the large amount of dialouge to translate costs alot of money that may not come back in sales.

Am I right? Or am I still not understanding.
