Holy spam there is so much snow. There hasn't been this much snow in my state since I was in kidergarden. Holy cow. Big powdery blanket of soft coldness.

...In other news, Professor Layton is a fun game and The Secret of Kells is a very pretty movie. Also I have the Pheonix Wright Artbook yesssss. It's sadly lacking in delicious concept art

my childhood, movies, pheonix wright, professor layton

Movies like this remind me how we need more imported European animation and comics. American and Japanese stuff is not enough! We need imports from our brothers across the pond as well as across the lake, so that we may have a glorious Japan-America-Europe Axis of Awesome and Glorious Cartoonage.

My mum is a teacher and said that it hasn’t snowed like this since the 1980s. Conversely, my Dutch friend laughed and said he would still be going to school in this weather. :o
Mwahahahaha now you have also been sucked into the Web of Layton. Excellent. Diabolical Box is my favourite, but Unwound Future also has its moments. The movie is surprisingly excellent too.
I heard that the original draft of Phoenix Wright had an old man as Edgeworth, but they eventually gave in and made him a bishounen. More than art, I’d love to see a transcript of that meeting.

Heh.
Ah, I'm still on the first game, although I've bought the other two. I decided to get it after I heard about the Layton/Pheonix crossover for the 3DS, and because I love me some plot and mystery in my games. I'm pretty early in the game - just learned about the ~abductions~ and supposed "monster" in the tower. I had heard that the movie never got translated into english though, is that right?

Actually, all that was before they even started writing: http://www.court-records.net/arts/concept%20sketches.png . The Apollo/Franziska lovechild is Pheonix, Generic Western Cartoon Villian is Edgeworth, Girl With Ema's Glasses is Maya, Broad Kung Foo Guy is... Mia, and Serious Buisness Boobs is...Gumshoe. It says in the artbook that Manfred Von Karma is actually their original concept for Edgeworth's apearance and personality after being tweaked and recycled.

Oddly enough, I’ve heard that the Layton movie was released on DVD in the UK, with an English dub even. No clue why it has yet to be released in Region 1. (Probably the same reason why Going Postal hasn’t been.)

Well, at least there's SOME English dub to watch. I'll have to look for it online I guess.

"Going postal?"
