more grant editing, set up for art in action but no one showed up.

i got back from vacation today. it seems like a ghost town. most of the other interns finished while i was in trinidad. all that is left is sara, me, maureen, sylvia and candy. the internship is coming to an end swiftly. i will (and need to) be finished in two weeks time. today i got kelly to look at the work i had done on the family guide. amy and i desperately try to finish the bronze family guide. sara took pictures for us and i collected them on a disk. we want to try to finish it as soon as possible, i'm considering taking it with me on vacation and putting all the pieces together, so i can have it finished when i get back.

last day of teacher week. we wrapped up all the loose ends from the whole week. did a few last sessions of VTS and that was the end of teacher week. i'm relieved to not have to be stressed about facilitating VTS anymore, even though i am plenty more comfortable doing it. looking forward to trinidad next week, and not having to throw insane ( Read more... )

a meeting with kelly in the morning lead to a good conversation about vts and helping to see more eye to eye about vts. kelly is glad that i am skeptical because it means that i am thinking about the things the museum is teaching me rather than just taking them in. i also learned a lot more about grants and grant writing in the mock panel session ( Read more... )

more vts, which is improving. i'm doing much better. today the booker t washington kids came in for a tour and an activity. i'm really glad that i was able to have this project with kids who are fearless and full of spunk.

facilitating vts is hard. i feel stupid when i have to paraphrase something that is already at a bare minimum of understanding. we helped rachel finish the kangas so that was interesting.

teacher week means my life is consumed with vts.

staff meeting was the first order of the day. i unfortunately will not be in the country for the blues and jazz festival, which seems a little bit disappointing because i know how much work has gone into it. after the staff meeting, my nerves really started to kick in because i would be giving my first tour ever at mid day art break. so i read ( Read more... )
