I don't, but cranberry sauce is so easy and fast to make on the stove. It takes like ten minutes at most.

I agree with this sentiment. I also wanted to add that if you want to make something smaller in a large crock pot you can always use a small metal bowl and add some water outside the bowl but inside the crock. I do this for most recipes because the bowl is much easier to clean than the crock!

Yea I know, it's mostly due to an unfortunate sudden lack of vessels and burner space. I moved very recently to a smaller kitchen and much smaller stove top. Unfortunately I'm also down pots and pans so this turkey day will be helped along with crocks. I guess I'll try my normal recipe in the crock and make a large amount. Everyone loves cranberries :)

Since most people like their cranberry sauce to have cooled and "jellied up", can' t you just make it a day or two before the big event when you do have the burner space? My mom always makes hers the day before and tucks it in the fridge until an hour or so before serving.

I'd save the crock for something that needs to be hot/warm for the meal (mashed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, gravy, etc.)

I've made this one at least 3 times: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/11/crockpot-homemade-cranberry-sauce.html

I made it as written in a 5 quart twice; it just cooks faster. Last year, the partner picked up 3 *pounds* of cranberries, and it cooked up quite nicely in my 7 quart. I had enough last year for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and 3-4 cups that went into the freezer to make sauce for cranberry roasts (http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2009/12/supuer-simple-cranberry-roast-beef-or.html)

I've always made it a few days ahead. I also use the crock to make the sauce for the same reason Stephanie does: I don't have to watch it and it doesn't burn.
