Savoury French Lentil Stew

I admit that this is not the prettiest dish. It wasn't a joy to photograph. But what it lacked in aesthetics it more than made up for in flavour!

I've been wanting to try something easy but hearty and filling with lentils, but, having never used them before, I've been hesitant. However, I do believe I'm going to take the plunge with this recipe. Sounds yummy, thank you. :)

Do you have this with rice or on it's own? Just wondering, because of the potatoes.

We had it on its own but we served a nice crusty French loaf with it. It was perfect!

I'm gonna halve this & try making it in my little 1.5qt crockette. I hope it turns out, because it sure sounds yummy!

I really do wish there were more recipes out there geared toward the crockette. I get so frustrated when all I can seem to find are dips & sauces...

Me too! We are only two people so even my 3 qt one only gets pulled out like twice a year. Usually I just scale down the recipes for larger crocks and hope for the best.
