My crockpot isn't fancy enough to know what temp it is. Do you know if 350 is high? I would imagine so but I'm just checking.

Nope, I didn't soak the peas first. I read the directions on the packet and they didn't mention it. No other seasonings either, since the ham was already pretty salty and I don't usually add salt to anything anyway. I'm sure a little onion powder would work though.

I used 350 on my crock because that's about medium. If you've got three settings, try "Medium" and see how it works. If you've got two settings, I'd go with "High" and maybe turn it down later.

Thanks! I don't have medium but my low runs a little warmer in this crockpot than it did in my old one so I will try that and just turn it up if it's not cooking fast enough.

I make something like this except that mine has an onion and a couple of potatoes in it as well, and usually no ham. I find that using chicken stock supplies all the flavour and seasoning I need.
