First post! I figured I'd share a recipe I use pretty much weekly.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff:

2 can condensed golden mushroom soup
3 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3 ounces cream cheese
3 ounces sour cream
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into strips
2 cups fresh baby bella mushrooms

Makes about 5 servings

I wondered about the safety thing as well. My dad works in plastics (has for over 20 years) and he explained that this specific kind of plastic has to heat up to way hotter than your crockpot would go (something like 800 degrees) before it'd start breaking down, so it's probably okay. I mean, my dad's not infallible or whatever, but I trust him when it comes to plastic. *laugh*

I think that is interesting, I've used the bags and I love them!

I put the food into them the night before to marinate and just throw it in the crock pot in the morning and use the lid to hold it or twist it shut before putting the lid on.
I don't open my crockpot when it cooks because it makes it take longer, so that may have something to do with it.

When it came time to pull stuff out I did it exactly the same as I would if it was just in the ceramic pot itself, no issues, and it made it easier for me to pour because I could use it to pour like I would out of a zip lock.

Maybe it's the brand? Do you use Reynolds brand?

Yup, that is what I had a coupon for ;-)

Guess it is the same with everything, YMMV.

Reynolds vs PanSaver snobahr March 13 2009, 19:41:57 UTC
I've used the Reynolds liners, and only had one "major" failure with them, when my mom-in-law used a metal utensil for getting Teh Fudz out, and tore the bag. The biggest tip with any liner bag is to put a few spoonsful of water in the crock before adding the liner.
That said, I prefer the PanSaver Pan Liners. They're thicker/more sturdy than the Reynolds product. The downside is the minimum order is 100 liners. It still works out to insanely cheaper than Reynolds, as even with the $10 below-minimum-dollar-order, you're still paying less than a dollar per bag.
While I can't quote which bag I have (I seem to have misplaced the envelope they arrived in), I will say with all confidence that if you contact them directly with the size of your slowcooker (interior depth, width and breadth), the person you speak to (or email) will be wonderfully helpful.
Note to self: order more liners.
