replacement stoneware?

Dec 04, 2006 15:20

Ok, so this was my crockpot. Until I stupidly and precariously stored it on top of the fridge. I opened the door to get some water and the removable stoneware part came crazhing down in a million pieces.  Can i get a replacement somewhere or does I just need to stuck it up and get whole new pot?

I'd suggest posting to freecycle or checking secondhand stores to see if you can find a secondhand replacement crock but, yeah, it's likely cheaper to just buy a new slowcooker. Sucks, I know.

You could try hitting a few thrift stores in you area and see if one of them has the same pot. Other than that, a replacement is probably gonna cost close to the same as a new pot.

Just put a new one on your X-mas list.

I bought a second stoneware insert for mine and it was indeed more expensive than buying a whole new one.

Hey, that's one of the models I've been looking at! I guess you must be pretty happy with it, right?

It cooks(ed) a little high on the low setting but once you account for that, it was great.

The only issue you might want to consider (esp since mine was high) is the timing factor and how long you are out of the house. Like, I leave at 8 and get home around 5:30 or 6. That is too long for most recipes and this model has no auto on. I got one of those timer for turning on your lights when you aren't home and it worked like a dream. Something to consider.

Aw, darn. Cooking too warm is a deal-breaker for me. Thank you for letting me know. :-)

It's like coffee makers. My last one cost $19.99 but if I break the pot the replacements are $18.99.
