help please

ok...I over slept and appearantly my crock pot was a little bit hotter than expected and burned on some food to my crock pot that is UNABLE to come out with any amount of scrubbing :(  I need help please!!  I am not sure how big of a quart my crock pot is :(  It does not state it anywhere but I did find a model number.  I went to the rival crock ( Read more... )

Have you tried steel wool? That's usually the best bet to get off anything that's really stuck.

yea its bad :( even tried the dishwasher figuring the steam would loosen it up a bit :(

and I was going to spray it with nonstick spray since it usually runs too hot than what it is but I completely forgot then took a nap with the baby and well I am lucky it wasn't on fire :(

Dawn usually cuts the grease but its not cutting this :(

oh no I haven't tried that anything at this point I LOVE my crock pot and can't imagine my life without it!!

and I had tons of pork chops to use it in tomorrow too :(

yea I am stationed in germany so great products that are in the usa are hard to come by here :( thanks though if worse comes to worse I can have my mom look :)

Try filling it with soapy water and soaking it overnight. It may take the water that long to soften the cooked-on burnt stuff.

If you know your crockpot cooks higher than what you set it at, you really ought to get a new one. It's not safe to use. Who knows how hot it could get when you're not right there watching it, and next time it might cause a fire. And, no offense, but it just seems to me to be common sense that you shouldn't take a nap without setting an alarm when you've got something almost done cooking.

to the time that it usually cooks I still had 3 hrs on it and its not like I had planned on taking a nap I laid down with my baby and just ended up falling asleep

White distilled vinegar might help loosen and de-stink what you've got going on in your crock pot, throw some in with some water and let it soak overnight like others have suggested.
