Some time ago I stumbled across this recipe for crockpot Kalua Pig. Oh, good to know! I found that recipe a few months ago but decided against trying it. I'm glad you can just use kosher salt. I don't think they sell Hawaiian sea salt here (or, more likely, I'm just too lazy and pressed for time to explore).

My slow cooker must cook extra-hot because I tried it for 20 hours and ended up with a crispy inedible mess. 10 hours is the limit for me.
