Office Potluck

What's a good crockpot recipe for an office potluck?

*EDIT* This needs to be something that can cook in 4 hours or less. (I'm bringing the crock to work at 8am for lunch at noon.)

party, appetizer

this is going to sound really lame but i've always had great success with a bag of frozen meatballs cooked overnight in the crockpot with a jar of BBQ sauce poured on top and mixed in. i never fail to bring home an empty crockpot.

No such thing as a lame suggestion! Although I actually need to edit this question... I need a recipe that will cook in 4 hours or less. (I'm bringing the crock to work at 8am for lunch at 12pm)

Thanks SO much for jumping in to help, though!

well in that case...i made a crockpot full of meatballs and little smokies last weekend to have at my daughter's birthday party. i just thawed the meatballs overnight in the fridge and then the next morning threw everything into the crockpot on high for a couple of hours :)

I make frozen meatballs for my toddler boys all the time. I put them (frozen) in the crock and cover with jarred pasta sauce. Heat on low for just 2 to 3 hours and they are thawed and heated through -- that should work for your office party.

I've read that before, I think. I must confess, the grape jelly idea kinda scares me. But, I'll try anything once!

You really can't taste the grape jelly, it just gives it a really delicious and original taste!

Cheesy sausage dip!!!

- 1 roll of ground sausage, cooked
- 1 large package of velveeta, cubed
- 1 can of tomatoes with green chiles
- whatever spices you want, i like cumin, a little cayenne pepper, and onion powder

Put it in your crockpot overnight on low. :)

Serve with tortilla chips!!!

That sounds interesting... My arteries are in protest already. Can you please tell me what corned beef is? I've seen it; I've eaten it. I just don't know *what* it is?

How do you *corn* beef?

The corn in corned beef refers to a type of salt used when preparing the meat; the large salt grains reminded folks of corn, hence the name corned beef. Corned beef refers to a style of preparation rather than a specific cut, though a fibrous roast that will stand up to the preparation and long cooking process is typically used.

Thank you! I once worked with a bunch of folks from New York, and they looked at me like I was a moron when I told them I'd never tried corned beef before. The look was enough to make me not want to ask what it was.
