Substitute crockpot lid?

Were in the middle of moving and currently living in a hotel room so I'm doing a majority of cooking in my crockpot. So today I went to storage and dug out my big crockpot and then came back only to realize I forgot to grab the lid ( Read more... )

Use the foil... then rest something on top, like a frying pan or baking sheet plus a bit of weight.... but leave a small section covered with just foil so there's no chance of building up any steam pressure.

My crock pot lid broke.. I have used the tin foil combined with a glass pan lid that *almost* fits, that works pretty well.

I've also covered it with tin foil and a baking sheet in a pinch.

Exactly what I do with my small crockpot that I've never had a lid for (it was a hand-me-down). Foil, then a lid that /almost/ fits, and curve the foil edges upward a little bit just in case there's drippage.

I've used just foil without anything else on top of it and it works fine for me.
