If history has taught me anything its that the Dumb, the Strong, the Rich & the Ignorant tend to be the ones "in charge." They have their needs suited to. And the rest of us...we're just pawns. Working, hoping that one day, we'll live the sweet life ( Read more... )

You can't change the system through the system, that's ridiculous. Somehow you have to change who has the agency, but that seems difficult. I'd say find something that makes you happy and live for that, whether you're willingly in the system or not. But what makes you happy? The hardest question ever posed.

the hardest part of it is that most of us get things we appreciate, but can't lead us to happiness since the amount of pressure brought by the "system" (call it however you want, society, fascism, GATT, or just humanity..) remains overwhelming.

I'm sure Caleb's got plenty of things he basically enjoys, but our world puts our minds in constant frustration in many ways... And as long as you can't get OUT of the system (which looks like a fairy tale unless you already are one of those sharks with enough money to live a thousand times), you suffer from it and crave for satisfying moments in your life to "tip the scales" in the other way (not sure if that's correct english at all..)

Conclusion, life is hard.
