-CHAPTER 28-
I flopped on my bed when I got home. It feels really good, having finally gotten rid of the money and the presents. That’s a big load off my shoulder for sure…
Now, I just need to find a way to get Euna and Yunho together. More specifically, I need to find a way to make Euna like Yunho.
Hm… I feel like I’m in a drama now and I bet IU will be happy to hear this. So how do I do this…? I never did anything like this before…
What does Euna like that Yunho has? What can Yunho do to charm Euna? Sigh….
I twist and turned on my bed for at least an hour before formulating a plan.
“Well, hopefully this’ll work” I told myself as my eyelids started feeling heavier.

The next morning, I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping outside. However, as peaceful as chirping birds are, I woke up abruptly, in a jump.
All I could think of at that moment was if I was going to be late for class, but then… I realized that it was Saturday. The stupid day that I’ve been waiting for at least a thousand years now…
Wow, Saturday.
The immediate next though that popped inside my head after that was Yunho. I must have fallen asleep formulating that plan of mine yesterday. What was that plan already? Think, think, think, think… oh! Ok, I remember.
I got up from bed and went to brush my teeth.
Looking in the mirror, I thought: Am I supposed to hang out with him and Euna today again? If I have to go out again, do I need to dress better this time? Questions, questions…
~ ~ ~
After eating breakfast, I once again realized that it was Saturday, but this time for real so I gave up on the idea to hang out with Yunho. I want to hang out with my other friends and have actual fun so I texted Yunho telling him that I’m tired and don’t want to hang out today.
Then, I called Junsu, IU and Changmin to ask them if they could hang out, but Junsu and IU feel like they need to study a little bit because they’ve been slacking off too much these first few days of school. Changmin apparently already studied and I, obviously, did too.
“When do you think you’d be done studying today?” I asked Junsu on the phone.
“I don’t know… there are a lot of things that I don’t understand...” Junsu replied. He sounded bored.
“Need help?”
“Oh, it’s okay. I don’t want to bother you” he told me.
“Nah, I’m bored anyways. We’ll meet somewhere and I’ll help you, kay? Call you later!”
Nothing is going to ruin this Saturday if I can help it.

In the end, the four of us agreed on meeting in Changmin’s house since he’s the number one smart ass amongst us and he’ll probably make those two understand everything in a flash. Also, when I phoned Changmin, his mom picked up first and invited us all over to eat supper at her house tonight. Talk about being nice.
I was going to refuse at the beginning, but then remembered that Changmin’s parents would kill for a bottle of 100 years old wine so I decided that it was the perfect opportunity to bring it to them. You can’t let the wine get too old after all; you’ve got to drink it some day.
Also, scientifically speaking… what happens to wine when it’s 1000 years old? Doesn’t it ever rot or start to taste like crap? Well anyways, if the wine doesn’t go bad, the bottle will, hmph.
Other than wine… should I bring anything else when I go?
…
Food. Duh. It’s Changmin’s house I’m going to.

Junsu’s car picked us up at my apartment. I greeted the old driver who seems to have recognized me when I entered the car.
“Hi Junsu!” I said as I sat down.
“Hi-… Hyung, what is all that?” Junsu said, pointing at the big bag I had in my hands.
“Oh, that’s just the dwejang jiggae that I made for Changmin. Well, everybody actually” I told him with a smile.
“But… there’s so much of it!” IU, who surprised me by popping up from behind Junsu said.
“Well, it’s Changmin we’re talking about here…” I told them and they both nodded, mouth shaped like an “O”.
“Are you guys bringing anything?” I asked and IU immediately -almost scarily- took out a bag of her own, as if she was ready for me to ask.
“I made cake” she said with a big grin.
“Ooo, what flavour?”
“Marshmallow”
“Marshmallow flavour? That exists?” I asked, surprised. What happened to vanilla or chocolate?
“No, I invented it! It’s my original recipe!” she said proudly.
“So it does exists then” I joked and she pouted. I turned to Junsu.
“What about you? Did you make anything?” I asked. As I said that, Junsu face turned a little bit pink.
“Um… well… I tried…” he said, looking down and taking out a lunchbox-like container.
“Oh! What’s inside?” I asked with an encouraging smile.
“Well… takoyaki…” he said, his voice decreasing in volume.
“That’s great!” I said and gave him a pat on the back “Aish, don’t be so self conscious about this! I’m sure you did great!” I told him. From habit, I learned that every time Junsu says that he’s not good in something, he turns out to be the exact contrary. This boy just needs to learn to have more confidence.
A little later, we arrive at Changmin’s house. It isn’t big, but it isn’t small either and it is a house, mind you. Even before entering, I could feel a strong “family” vibe coming from it. It’s a hard feeling to describe. Let’s just say that whoever enters this house would feel at home. The little garden they have isn’t splendid, but the little flowers here and there, the self-grown veggies and even the weeds gave the outside look of the house a homey feeling.
Feels just like home.
When we reached the front door, it opened without us even knocking and from inside the house, a middle-aged woman greeted us with a hearty laugh.
“Ah hello!~ You must be Changmin’s friends! Come in, quickly~ ~!” she said, gesturing us to come in “you can leave your shoes right here” she said pointing at a mat on the floor then abruptly turned her head away like she was going to sneeze, but instead yelled “Changminnie~! Your friends are here!!!”
As we took off our shoes, she looked at each one of us from head to toe.
“Excuse me” she said.
“Who… me?” I said, looking up, confused.
“Yes um… is that a new style…? Your hair? I have never seen that on TV before” she said and I felt my cheeks get hot.
“Omma! Don’t ask questions like that! It’s embarrassing!” Changmin said, running out from god-knows-where like a professional jogger, if there is such a thing. He was wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt. Very casual.
“Aish, okay, okay! Youngsters these days… everything I say is embarrassing aigoo~~” Changmin’s mom said, making a face at Changmin.
Changmin did a short presentation of each one of us to his mom except for Junsu because he already came before.
“I heard a lot of you guys from Changmin. He told me a lot- oh! Omo! What’s this..? You brought something? Aish, you kids are too nice! You shouldn’t have!” Changmin’s mother said, embarrassingly fanning air with her hand at us.
The three of us laughed awkwardly.
“Omma! You’re embarrassing them again!” Changmin said and I wanted to laugh out loud. Knowing Changmin as a friend was something, but knows him as a son is really something else.
The three of us handed the food that we made to ajhumma who somehow was able to carry all of them at once. What a strong woman. Then, Changmin lead us to his room after giving us a tour of his house.
“I really like your house, it’s so … warm” I told him. I feel like I just want to be Changmin’s real big brother right now.
“Your mom is really funny!” IU said poking Changmin in the shoulder. Junsu just smiled.
The four of us-or more like the two of them- did some studying with Changmin and my assistance.
“Oh okay! I get this now!” Junsu told me excitedly, happy that he finally understood the last math problem that he couldn’t do.
“See? I told you it’s not that hard. You got it really quickly!” I said, ruffling his hair and he laughed when I did. We then looked at Changmin and IU.
“I still don’t get it” IU said, knocking herself on the head.
“Well hitting yourself isn’t going to help, that’s for sure” Changmin said and proceeded to casually re-explaining the problem to her while looking at it over her shoulder.
“So like… this?” IU said, tracing something on her paper.
“Yes… like that” Changmin said, eyes following the movement of her pencil as she drew “and then..?” he said when she finished tracing.
“Well…um…- hey! It’s shaped like a heart!” she said, giggling.
“Concentraaaaaate” Changmin said seriously and she pouted.
“Alright…hmph…”
~ ~ ~
“Kids~~! Come to eat!” Changmin’s mom called.
We were about to go when I grabbed Changmin and pulled him back. He looked at me confusedly when I grinned impishly at him and handed him the bag containing the wine.
“What’s this…?” he asked.
“Open it” I said, fidgeting and waiting for his reaction. When he looked inside, he nearly dropped the bag and body slammed me. It ended up just being a big bear hug. A really big one.
“Hyuuuuung~!” Changmin said and actually lifted me up and spun me around twice before putting me down. Phew. Okay. I wasn’t expecting that much of a reaction. Changmin must be a really filial son to be this happy for his parents; he wasn’t going to drink this himself, naturally.
“Did anything happen?!” Changmin’s mom’s voice was heard again. I made a shush sign to Changmin who nodded as he picked up the bag. We were going to surprise his parents.
When we got to the kitchen, IU, Junsu and Changmin’s parents were already seated and waiting for us. As I took a seat after greeting Changmin’s father, Changmin took out a bottle and gave it to his parents who looked back at him confusedly.
And then…
“T-This is…! Omo~! Changmin!” ajhumma shouted.
“Son~~!” his father said and the three of them hugged around in circle.
It was very weird to watch, but also very heart warming.
Awww.
