-CHAPTER 29-
This Saturday turned out to be better than expected.
Later on in the evening, Yunho replied to my text message telling me: “It’s okay! You deserved it! Rest well! :P” Geez, it almost feels like he’s giving me permission or something. Of course I deserved it!
It also looks like Junsu wasn’t lying when he said that he tried making takoyakis. Honestly, they were bad, but Changmin ended up eating them anyways…and it wasn’t even to make Junsu feel better. Note to self: teach Junsu how to make better takoyakis in the future.
As for IU, her marshmallow cake was quite delicious. It wasn’t too rich or too light, just like marshmallow. Changmin loved it so much that he decided to trade tutoring for cakes.
That boy and his food.
Me and Changmin’s omoni shared a few cooking tips with each other and the night ended in a rejoicing with laughter and happiness.
Changmin’s parents ended up really liking us even though they found my hair weird along with a few other things like the fact that IU was one girl hanging out with three guys. Well, technically Junsu doesn’t really count and I’m not that kind of person either. So maybe Changmin?
… Nah, just nah.
Exceptionally today, IU volunteered to give me a ride home. That’s a first.
“Oh! My driver is here! Let’s go Jaejoong!” she said, pulling me and running to her car before it even parked anywhere. Sometimes I wonder how this girl falls asleep at night with all this energy of hers.
As we went inside, I got surprised by the interior…decoration… of the car.
Celebrity pictures were stuck everywhere in the car, from the seats to the ceiling and windows. Some of them looked like they were printed there. Mangas were also lying around a little bit here and there. The car also had candy everywhere, including marshmallow which, I’m starting to notice, must be IU favourite sweet. Cute animal and heart shaped pillows were also on the seats. Basically, this place has everything needed to throw a girl’s slumber party.
But even though it’s kind of weird, I can’t deny that it’s very comfortable.
The car drove off.
“Hey Jaejoong!” IU said, tapping me on the shoulder.
“Yeah?”
“I have a question” she said, looking like she’s holding in a giggle. What is this girl up to now…?
“Yea?”
“Between Changmin and Junsu… who do you think is the cutest?” she asked, leaning in, eyes bright with curiosity and excitement.
Uhhhh… what the heck?
Well, it’s just Changmin and Junsu, nothing dangerous.
“I think that Junsu is cuter and that Changmin has his moments” I said and she laughed a little.
“Alright, then what about… hm…Yunho and Yoochun?” she asked and I almost got taken aback by the question. Almost.
“They’re not cute” I said, almost adamantly. However, that didn’t seem enough to stop IU’s curiosity.
“Well then which one do you like better? In general.” She asked again, still as curious and excited as ever.
Between Yunho and Yoochun? That’s not a hard pick.
“Yunho” I said simply and as soon as I said it she starting being jumpy on her seat, giggling and clapping to herself. I sighed.
“So… are you going to be done with this anytime soon?” I asked. I guess that I’m letting her ask all these questions for everyone to end the evening on a happy note.
Just let the girl have her fun, Jaejoong.
“Tell me honestly Jaejoong; how do you find Yunho?” she asked me. IU seems to have a gift in asking embarrassing questions about the weirdest people. I mean, why Yunho?
“Why, do you like him or something?” I asked and she seemed almost offended by my question.
“Jaejoong! I’m offended that you think of me this way!” she gasped exaggeratedly.
Uhhh… what?
“What way…?” I asked, not too sure what she’s talking about.
“Oh… nothing, j-just tell me what you think of him” she said, fumbling a little before smiling cheekily to me.
“Honestly?” I asked with a sigh.
“Honestly”
“Well…I guess that … mmm… he’s a smart and nice guy in general. It’s just that he tends to be a douche sometimes. I think he’s influenced sometimes by the environment that he lives in. But then again…I guess it can’t be helped, right? He could have turned out much worse… Hm…um…Oh! And he takes this ‘being manly’ thing way too seriously. I mean, I don’t mind him acting like that with girls, but to destroy another guy’s manliness by treating him like a girl? You just don’t do things like that!-“
And before I could continue, IU squealed in a very high pitched voice. Very high pitched.
“Jaejoong! That’s cute!” she said, pulling on my sleeve. Ok, she asked for it.
“I’m ignoring you now”
“Awww! Jaejoong!!~ ~ ~”

It’s Sunday, the day for groceries.
Early in the morning, I got a mail from my parents with some money inside that will serve me for the week. There was also a bank card inside; my parents told me to save the money that I don’t use inside the bank for emergency usage.
Cool, my very own bank account.

As I went outside, I did start to find that what Yunho told me before was true. My hair does attract more attention than it repels and it’s not the good kind of attention either.
Some people were giving strange looks and stares.
Maybe I should cut it, but I need to consult my friends first. I don’t want to end up with a shaved head.
After going home and putting the groceries in the fridge, I counted the money I had left. It was barely enough to eat a few days in the school cafeteria, maybe. That’s not a lot.
Should I get a job?
No, it would disturb my studies.
But, I need more emergency money than this. There are too many emergencies in my life as I know it.
Maybe I can get to a compromise? Something that wouldn’t interfere with my studies as much…with easy work hours…
…
A tutor!

Noooooooooooooo!
It’s Monday again. Stupid morning, stupid birds chirping, stupid alarm clock, stupid sunlight... Ugh, I hate Mondays.
Alright Jaejoong, enough whining. You have a lot of things to do, get to it.
Ugh, stupid conscience.

“You want to be a tutor?” the math teacher asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah”
“Why do you want to be a tutor?” she asked as if I said something funny.
Alright, I have to bullshit my way out of this.
“Well, the other day, I was hanging out with Yunho…” I started and looked at her for a reaction when I mentioned Yunho, which worked; her eyes lighted up in interest “and well, his friends had some questions in math which I helped them with and Yunho said that I should consider becoming a tutor…” I said, trying as much as possible to insist on the word “Yunho”.
“Well… if the class president thinks so…then…”
Haha, score.
