Wow, that sounds like.... someone whom I may have an idea. c_c And if it is who I think it is, I'm so glad you know who you are, and you don't let others judge you or mould you into what THEY think you should be. That's something I've admired about you, you're not afraid to be your own person.
Also holyspam, livejournal needs to get it in gear with monitoring spam accounts D:
I'm a lot of things that people don't agree with! But that's just part of who I am, and I don't see why I have to conform to someone else's idea of whatever I am...when I already know what and who I am! ^_^
I totally agree... No, this was someone totally different. They thought they were the authority on everything that has to do with a therianthropic spirituality. It was her way or the high-way. From what I hear, she did think that she could tell people "You're not really a Therian..." or similar crap. I don't hold a grudge against her, I just...prefer not to think about her.
What you're talking about, on the other hand, did me a world of good, and even recalling it makes me want to go back. There wasn't any need to 'prove' anything, just the ability to talk everything out, have it gently questioned, and solidify your own beliefs by hashing it out amongst a group of like-minded friends.
Reminds me I need a vacation. >.> Maybe once Tahoe has defrosted. I much prefer the non-crazy people, rational people! Happy rational people!
I was also glad to get out of the therian community. Unfortunately, my experience of getting dragged along to a Werewolf live action game kinda killed my respect for a lot of "well known" therians when I realised they had ripped terms and ideas from a fucking RP. Especially when they'd jump on "posers who play Werewolf".
I'll just stick to being me, I don't think I need a community to validate me. ;)
Oh, my problem isn't at all with therians who play Werewolf, or any other game! It's when some people want to bring that fantasy setting into the real world and apply it there. That's what seems odd to me.
Also my own experience with Werewolf wasn't crappy so much because of the game but because of the people playing. XD

I would like a more adult Therian community, but...I don't think that can happen on the Internets...
