The sad thing is the schools are supposed to have a no tolerance policy on bullying in all the schools (province wide), yet a child who bullies depending on the action gets a slap on the wrist - a 3 or 4 days suspension. It's very rare to hear that a bully being expelled from school for bullying.

I was treated the same way by a teacher a year ago! My daughter had two other girls corner her in the hall way and cut a piece of her hair off with scissors. This was before her accident. One of the teachers treated me like I was making it all up. Luckily the one that mattered was my daughters teacher at the time. She resolved the issue as best she could. I personally considered it assault with a weapon. The school didn't agree on either point. Unfortunatly for me the teacher who treated me like I was crying wolf is her teacher this year. long story short... it is inexcusable to ignore ANY form of bullying! I really have to watch it this year because this particular teacher tends to want classroom peace so badly she will let things go that shouldn't! I'm glad someone was brave enough to come to the girls defense and that alls well that ends well!

I think you are lucky your daughter told you , most children never tell their parents about the bullying that goes on in schools these days, fearing repercussions from naming the bully :(
