Okay, that might be a little exaggerated for a heading, but it's also true.
Earlier this evening Sharon announces that her and a close friend were threatened today at school (@ lunchtime) by a girl the the other grade 5 class. Naturally I asked her what had happened and if she said anything to this girl that might set her off - she reassured me that she didn't. Sharon did mention that there was one other girl who told the bully to back off. I called her friend and she told me the same thing, her Mum couldn't believe what happened at school so I told her (the mother) that I was contacting the teacher and I wanted to her to look into the incident.
Well, I emailed the teacher and within an hour I received a reply:
"Thank you very much for your email. I will find out what happened today. I will pass this concern along to the office as it is a very serious issue. Also, I will follow up throughout the day tomorrow to ensure that your daughter will feel safe at school."
Why this might've seem to take me aback a little is last (school) year, when Sharon had a (boy) bully physically pushing her around in her class and my concerns were brought to the teacher, she completely dismissed me like as if I were mad. There's one thing about name calling, but when things get physical that's a whole different kettle of fish. I don't want to go through that again.
Now it's to see what happens next
