Chances are if you're from a well known movie (Star Wars, Star Trek, nerdy things like that), comic book (for example token characters like Superman, Batman, Captain America, etc.), or a British show, he might very well recognize the name.  Probably not so much anime characters?

Dunno if he'd know Blackarachnia but if he recognizes her (and it's okay with the rest of the cast) go for it.
