Stargate SG-1

I was pleasantly surprised by Paradise Lost. I was dreading a really slow-paced ep (like, even more than usual) about two guys stuck on a planet. Instead, it had a good dose of tension (Maybourne is a despicable character but he brings good drama and snark to the show) and Jack acted smart, figuring out what had happened before and was happening ( Read more... )

Oh, season six is COMPLETELY a shippy season. The people who told you it wasn't lied like dogs.

It's not the "omg we are in teh LUV" vibe. It's the "we are cranky and married, and I have a headache, and we are NOT having sex, really" vibe. Totally old married couple, they're comfy with each other.

And I love it to death.

And poor Jonas gets less love than he deserves, and almost got raped by Nirrti. (he was set up from the beginning as a genius, even in Daniel's Death episode, iirc. And... it doesn't bother me that much. SG-1 needs one of each. A science geek, a linguist/arch geek, a black ops thinks of Occam's razor type, and a muscley-I am jaffa and cute type)

Hmmmm... Was I thinking of season 5 then? Maybe I mixed them up. Season 5 wasn't very shippy but then after the season 4 shipfest/facing a wall, they needed a breather so it didn't bother me so much.

Yeah, that was... creepy. ::shudder::

Indeed. He was introduced as one among the brightest on his planet.

I actually feel sorry for the actor as the whole situation (Shanks leaving, fans up in arms, him trying to fit in a group that had known each other for years) wasn't a very comfortable one.

Indeed. :)

There were several nice crane shots in it and they also futzed around with the cinematography when Jack starts eating the plant, making the colors kinda washed out. It's pretty much the first time I notice the directing in a good way.

Good ep all around. :)
