I think those are great changes. You are almost past the six week hump now, right? Knock on wood, but things have gotten a lot easier for us since hitting that milestone (to Henry's adjusted age, obviously). I am being a Nazi about the Weissbluth 1-2 hour awake time rule, and it seems to be working. Last night we had NO fussy period -- none!

We're also stuck at three feedings every night. In fact, Henry's longest sleep has gotten SHORTER -- he used to be good for one four-hour stretch every night, but we haven't seen that in a week. WTF? I have no idea what to do about it. I suppose I could just not feed him and soothe him back to sleep in other ways, but it's a lot of work in the middle of the night when I know that if I nurse him, he'll go right back down. Hmmmmm.

I'm noticing some shorter periods too. She used to be good for at least two 3-4 hour stretches in the night. They seem to be getting gradually shorter. I may try extending her day feeds from every three hours to every four hours if she will allow it, and see what happens then.

We just finished the fifth week. Going into the sixth week. PRAYING the Weissbluth six-week thing is accurate!

I have been surfing around LJ... clicking here and there, reading journals, and I think it is adorable that you have been sleeping on the floor.

Hi there. I actually didnt realize i left that entry public! ;) See what new motherhood will do to you...thank God i wasnt snarking on anyone..heh.

Anyway--sleeping on the floor--probably more stupid than adorable ;). I plead ridiculous, addled, first-time mom syndrome. On red wine. With one gassy baby.
