Alright, so what I am not saying over at Facebook (and what I won't be saying over there for a while yet) is that I am currently exploring the possibility of bariatric surgery. Gastric Sleeve, to be precise. Go look it up

*hugs* I know enough about the topic (and being over 100kg myself) that I'm not saying any of the negative things you mention. I am proud of you for wishing to do something about this, and you have my full support (not that you needed or wanted it).
Send any nay-sayers to me if you like ... I'll have 'words' with them. *hugs*
That can't have been an easy choice to make, but I totally respect your right to make it. (You're one of the most clued-in-about-health-stuff people I know, and I can't even imagine you not doing proper research into all the options.... anyone who thinks otherwise must not have been paying attention)
Best wishes for the process and the adjustments afterward; I'll be thinking of you.
I think that if it's the right path for you, it's a very good path. While no surgery is risk-free, it's a very refined surgery with excellent statistics. And the science on its ability to reverse, let alone stop the path of, type 2 diabetes is increasingly exciting.
I'm the first person to say that exercise is tops, because I love fanging around and throwing things. But the reality of modern life is that we have set up a world in which it is incredibly hard to be non-sedentary for many of us (I struggle to get 10,000 steps through the work week even on the days I remember to wear my Fitbit all day) and our food is just crazycakes. It's not cheating to look for a 21st century response to a 21st century problem, it's providing yourself with a tool that will let you succeed rather than set you up for what is at the least a very difficult struggle against modernity. Go for what is right for you and let me know if there is anything I can do to help! XXX
