Miniature Strawberry Cake

Sep 22, 2010 12:30

Another coworker is having a birthday this week, and I crocheted a mini cake for her. I placed 2 pieces of stiffened felt inside to make sure the top and bottom stay flat. Otherwise, it'd look like a cupcake. ;) The minicake measures 3" (7½cm) tall from the bottom to the tops of the tiny strawberries, and has a diameter of 2¼" (5¾cm).

Gee, this looks terrific! (and delicious!) That felt worked perfectly! How did you stiffen it? Is it wool felt or acrylic?

Terrific job! I'm sure your coworker will be totally delighted! :o)

It's acrylic felt that's already stiff. It's usually found in the same aisle as the squares of acrylic felt at craft stores.
Yes, my coworker was pleasantly surprised. 。^__^。 She's told me she's going to put it in her kitchen to add some color.
