safety eyes

i have 6mm eyes i was trying to attach to an ami with a long pointy face...  and i can't get the plastic backs to go on them.  any suggestions?  i'm also wondering if the size and shape of the project is what's making it so difficult.  thanks.

If it won't snap on then I put a pair of scissors in the back and open it up a little stretching it some.

i've had some trouble with the 6mm eye backings as well, they usually go on better turning them rather than trying to snap them in place. i still couldn't get them completely snug to the piece.

if the holes seem too small i stretch them out a bit with a crochet hook. one of the roundy metal ones that have the small flat finger grip in the middle.

I was jsut having the same problem and I gave up and used small metal washers that fit around the back and hot glued them... after getting calluses on my thumbs and index fingers :( good luck!!!
