sorry about the tv. it's amazing that a sony died so soon. hopefully you'll find the receipts. can you hook up a computer screen in the mean time? if your recorder has a antenna-in then you can at least record your programs until you get the tv fixed. and it might turn into a nice respite. listening to music makes a good filler and goes nicely with dinner and talking, classical anyway.
Turned out that I found the receipt easily and I DID buy the three year service contract which doesn't expire until next August. Since it is only a 24" TV, I would have to pay $89 for an in-house service call.
Fortunately the service center is just down the street, but since we don't have a car, favors will have to be asked in order to get it there, and back when it is repaired. Perhaps I might even get a new free TV out of the deal if they can't fix it.
Thanks. It's not like he's jumping ship immediately, but I can totally understand what happens to morale and motivation to work somewhere when they are putting people out on the floor with 5+ weeks less of training and paying them that much more. I'm really hoping that this headhunter who has been calling him all the time will find him something marvelous when he passes the certification tests.
Thanks for the well-wishes on my TV... just have to figure out how I'm getting it to and from the service center a few blocks away. Putting it in a grocery cart just won't cut it for transport. :)

As for A, I can't say I'm surprised, but I hope the Milwaukie lead works.
