Dammit!!!
A just called and asked if I wanted the bad news first or the even worse news. I told him to tell me whichever, since neither sounded good.
His opening salvo is that my lovely, gorgeous, state-of-the art, less than two year old Sony WEGA flat-screen television has died. Now, I DID (I think) purchase the service contract when I bought it, so I should be covered for repair or replacement. However, I have no idea where my receipts or other information regarding the purchase might be.
Additionally, this is the TV that my Tivo is attached to.
The other bad news is related to A's job. He went down to speak with the BOLI today because they have been hiring new people for his same exact job at $1.50 more an hour. It turns out that in the State of Oregon, they don't have a problem with business practices like that as long as a protected class isn't being discriminated against. For example if women or african-americans were being paid less, then they would raise a ruckus.
He's doing some certification tests on Friday and keeping his eyes out for other jobs out there, but in the meantime he will request a transfer to the Milwaukie office location, in the hopes of getting the starting higher wage down there, since it is considered a different office/branch.
