Jam-packed weekend update

Friday night, I got picked up from work by birthmom P, and was her guest at a wedding up on Alberta & NE 18th. The wedding ceremony was short and sweet, the buffet was tasty, but some of the hors d'oervres were way too spicy! I had a lovely glass of shiraz and of course champagne for the toast

Yeah, that star thing was pretty cool. I'm trying to come up with some reasoning behind choice of a special date that would merit having the replica of the sky at that day and hour be immortalized. Somehow the sky at the hour of my own birth seems a bit too, oh, I don't know, just too messianic or something. The cricket sounds really topped it off. It was really interesting to me just how relaxing it was. Perhaps we have adapted to city life, but it doesn't mean it's an optimum environment for humans. There are trade-offs.

I really like the Star thing too, but I know that I need as close to absolute darkness as possible to get to sleep and if it holds charge for a couple hours I can see getting some sleep disturbances... and putting it in any other room besides the bedroom just doesn't make sense to me.

Not that it matters as I have many other higher priority things to save for / spend my money on. hee!
