Blogging from L-Net Training

We're in a computer lab in the PCC Sylvania Campus Library, and learning all about the online reference consortium. It's really interesting. I'm learning a lot, and doing some networking too. good luck, I know you really want to do library work. Sometimes I wish I could get back into it.

Would you consider working in a corporate library, or is that not your cup of tea?

Corporate / business / legal / medical libraries is exactly what I'm looking for. I specialized in coursework on information brokering and business information management. So that's it exactly. I've got some good leads on networking now, and will be applying for a part-time library position probably this weekend.

good luck with it. I loved working in a corporate library. I would recommend that if you can't immediately get into the library you want, you take another job within the corporation and then you can transfer to the library when a job becomes available. This way, you can go in first as a customer and develop a relationship with the staff and find out how things operate. That's what I did - came into the company first in another role (as a temp, actually) then when a position became open, I was one of the first to hear of it. They knew I was going to libary school at the time.
