Non-local requests to adopt Precious have started rolling in

Somehow I think that they are mostly spam/scams where these folks will send me some fake check and then ask for change back or whatever on transporting her.

One from New York/Canada, One from England and one from Texas )

Yes, exactly. There are shelters a stones-throw away all over the country.

Very weird indeed.

Kinda weird that they all use the non-descript "pet" instead of acknowledging that it's a cat. WHat an odd scam.

Wow - they can't even be bothered to personalize their spam/scams with "dog" or "cat," "he" or "she," but have to use the awkward "pet" at every opportunity.

Sounds like another bad-check laundering thing to me, especially with all the urgency and secrecy and stuff.

yeah, pretty much all of them are so wrong! I'm totally creeped out by these people who want my cat. I'm really, really hoping that I can find someone who wants a cat locally and doesn't already have any cats, because that is the whole source of the problem.

I'm getting tired of clambering over babygates on the stairs without falling all over the place!

I got the same exact letter from the Dr. as you did for my rabbits. It's a total headache. Tell everyone you know to avoid him.

Whoa, that's freaky. The ONLY responses I got were phishing scams or whatnot, and it is so depressing that I can't find someone to take my cat yet. Several months later even!
