So I'm back at work...

After taking the day off sick yesterday. I'm feeling better than I did all weekend, and I'm sure staying home and in bed from Friday morning through Monday night was very helpful. I'm still taking the cold meds, and per the suggestion of gutterboylive I picked up some more stuff on my lunch break from the downtown Rite Aid. I've now got two packages of the ( Read more... )

It's that time of year. Bleh. I am just starting to feel human again after catching a terrible cold from one of my husband's nieces on Christmas Day. Hope you feel better soon!

Sounds like you had the same nastiness I suffered from on Friday. Of course, if one takes a Friday off it is Immediately Suspect. Fortunately, there are enough poor souls coughing up phelgm right now that my claims are substantiated.

Well, I had already arranged Friday off due to the conference, so it made it a four day weekend, which is suspect, but since I look like crap and am still sniffling, they are fortunately not worried about it.

Our office prefers that you not come in if you are sick, which is a lovely policy!

Glad you're feeling better. It seems like so many people are sick right now.

Did you have to sign a special book, testifying that you're buying cold medicine for a cold and not to make meth? I HATE that. Since that's gone into effect, I refuse to play along.

Wow - we don't have to sign anything here, just have to go up to the pharmacist and ask for it.... Lisa in TX

Nope, got all of that direct from the aisle at RiteAid downtown. They did have a section with pseudoephedrine products where you had to take a card up to the pharmacy counter, but I guess all the stuff I got is speed free.

I've had to do that once to get sinus meds.

I signed with my pen name, "Marco de Beast," and the pharm tech didn't even look at the sheet.

Hope you're feeling better.

In my experience, Airborne only works if you start taking it right when you're starting to come down with a cold...but I'm firmly in favor of "feed a cold with lots of over-the-counter meds, starve a fever."

I'm finally starting to feel better after four days of croakiness and misery. As one who can usually tapdance off a cold, I gotta say: this one going around is a bad mutha-hush-your-mouth.

P.S.: And I'm getting my sense of smell back, which is a mixed blessing. Even clothes that I was wearing for just a couple of hours during the Death Cold stink like the black plague.
