No good deed goes unpunished

So I go to run Orion a bath (and yes, I cleaned the tub with bleach after washing the dogs) and there's a giant house spider just hanging out in the tub.

So sad. Poor spider. Wes is insanely afraid of them. I find them intensely interesting but I can't quite touch them just yet, although my goal is to hold out my hand and let a tarantula climb aboard. So far I can't quite do it, although I have managed to tickle the legs of one. So.

Daniel doesn't like them, but he doesn't freak out over them. Fenris is scared to pieces of spiders. O digs them, but he's wary of them. They don't bother me the least little bit. I was such a freaky little kid, I used to play with wolf spiders. I had a pet tarantula named Veronica for years. She was so sweet. Whenever I changed her water, she'd climb up my arm and hang out on my shoulder until I was done. Not that I'm completely bug-impervious, however. Cockroaches (the common icky American ones, not the cool rainforest variety) freak my shit out. I run and squeal like a girl if one gets anywhere near me. YEEECH!

Gah. I canNOT do cockroaches. They are the absolutely ONLY insect about which I've had repeated nightmares.

We figured the cat was going around saying "That's a spicy meat-a ball!" He eats flying ants too. And craneflies.
