WOW. I'm dumbfounded by this. I would think that should be grounds for immediate dismissal as a violation of the code of ethics and the University's anti-discrimination policy.

This person emailed students and staff, unsolicited, about this? This person is either really important to the university, or this has been a long time coming.

Do you want me to spread the word about this on my flist and to my friends? I don't have any personal contacts in your area, but do know a few people online in your area. I want your permission first, though, and a link to the news article (if written) would be nice. :)

Not sure...Ombuds just contacted me back and appears to be taking it very seriously. If an article is written, I will definitely share it with you though. I mean, it's up to you if you want to share the situation, but I'm not sure what good it will do beyond what's already being done?

I'll hold off unless the administration tries to shove this under the rug and you're stonewalled (so to speak). If you still want to unleash some active people who will call, write and get their friends to do the same then, let me know. :)

Holy crap. Let me know if you need any help or support from the GMU LGBT group- they've had similar situations (groups who want "both sides" to be heard) and have dealt very well with it. I cannot believe that guy was emailing people individually.

I'm sorry it happened, and I'm glad you're not just going to delete and move on, ya know?

It's getting to that point. Thanks for offering. Feel free to contact your group- I fear that nothing may be done at this point. Still working on it though.
