Hey guys. Two very different sets of advice needed. :p

1. I have absolutely no clue where to start looking for an officiant. FH aren't having a religious ceremony, and we don't really know anyone. Any advice for how we should go about finding one?

After some delay due to massive quantities of snow, FH and my mother and i finally made it down to our Wedding/reception venue this morning to hash out the details and sign the contract. FH and I are going to visit with a cantor tomorrow at noon, and I wanted to know what kinds of questions we should ask her. We have a few ideas, and have talked out a few things with her already, but we don't know what else to bring up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to questions we should ask?

Has anyone had or will anyone have their officiant stand with his/her back to the audience, so the wedded couple is facing the audience (even indirectly)? I've always thought it was weird to have the couple standing with their backs to the audience, considering everyone's there for them and not for the officiant. ;) I just wanted to know if anyone ( Read more... )

We've found a great Episcopal church down there for the ceremony, but we are getting our pre-marital counseling from a priest at our own parish in New York.
