I think the last time I posted was well over a year ago if not more- that's how long we've been engaged and thankfully our wedding is just about 24 days away (August 24th 2013)
we just finished meeting with our Marriage Commissioner who said based on the size of our wedding the vows, it wouldn't be more than 10-15 minutes at most.
we aren't having anyone read poems or anything else/extra- no prayer, etc. so...guess it depends on how large your wedding party is, and what role you want them to play in the ceremony.
I love them too! there are a few more I've been eyeing up as well.
thanks for the info! I am assuming we will not be over the 10 minute mark. No readings, poems, wedding party. Just vows and maybe ring exchange (might already have those on)
I started my pre-wedding photos with myself and my bridal party at 1:00. My groom and his men arrived at 2:00 and we were done by 3:00 p.m. (we had to be at our venue by 4:30 for a quick run through of the ceremony). We allowed for plenty of time as we had food and beverages available for everyone during the photos.
it sounds like I might be able to push the time back and sleep in a bit! our ceremony is at 430PM, and I believe all of our photos would be taken in the same location unless something else is decided.
30 minutes wow! we just met with our marriage commissioner who has said the ceremony would take 10 minutes, with 15 minutes being the absolute most.
I would imagine everyone is different when it comes to what you want in a ceremony. The entrance of the bridal party, followed by the welcome by the officiant and other things that he said. We also had two readings, the vows, the exchange of rings and various things said by the officiant with regard to that. Yep from start to finish it was thirty minutes. I suppose if you are just having vows than yes, you wouldn't need much time at all.
makes sense! yeah I can't imagine it going over the 10 minute threshold as we aren't having any readings, and it didn't seem as if the marriage commissioner would be saying anything else.
