My friend did something like that. I have her invite in front of me, it says:
Brandie XXXXX & Adam AAAA
request the pleasure of your company
at the celebration of their marriage
So they didn't mention getting married in private at all.

What you have sounds alright to me. I think you're right not to put "Mr. and Mrs. So-and-so," since you're not yet married.

I ended up going with:
Please join us for an afternoon potluck to celebrate our marriage
Saturday, October 13th at 2pm
Residence of Sister and Brother-in-law
RSVP at email address
