Invitation Wording

Aug 20, 2012 18:10

Ah! I haven't posted anything since my introductory post!

Recap: We've decided to have a courthouse ceremony on our wedding day (Thu, Oct 11, 2012) with just our parents and my sister (and her family) in attendance. And then have a fall/geeky-themed potluck at my sister's house the following Saturday (the 13th) with only about 45 people in attendance.

I can't figure out how to word my potluck/reception/celebration invitations.

Right now I have:
My name and His name
Will be married in a private ceremony
On Thursday, October 11th, 2012

Together with our families, we invite you to a potluck celebration
At 2pm on Saturday, October 13th, 2012
Residence of Sister and Brother-in-law

RSVP at email or phone number

Everything we're doing is pretty informal, but I want to get the wording correct on the invitations. I had thought about just saying something like:

My first name and His first name Last Name
Invite you to a potluck celebrating their recent marriage
At 2pm on Saturday, October 13th, 2012
Residence of Sister and Brother-in-law

RSVP at email or phone number
More information: website

But we will not be married by the time these are sent out. Also, my parents nor his parents are paying for any of this, but I suppose my sister is hosting the potluck. I have no idea what I'm doing and the internet has been rather unhelpful for this sort of thing. D: Help!
