Caesar's Palace

Have any of you gotten married at Caesar's Palace and used their photographers? I posted how I'm highly considering have our wedding there on my public blog a while back and someone commented on how their photos came out horrible and nothing like the ones on their website and I haven't booked my venue yet but I'm getting kind of sad about that. I don't have first hand knowledge about the photographers but most hotel wedding chapels will only have their photographers for the ceremony and will not allow any outside pictures in the chapel. If you have your reception at the hotel you might be able to use your photographer but I'm not sure. I think if you book through the hotel you have to use their photographers. That's one big reason my husband and I chose to get married outside of the hotels.

Sorry I don't have much more information for you.

Thanks! Yeah I need to call around and double check. Like I really love the photos that I linked but I'm not completely sure if that's what I'll end up getting in the end and that's what I'm worried about. =/

I guess I'm not that familiar, but do you HAVE to use their photographers?

Honestly, it's a gamble because they aren't going to put their bad photos on a website for everyone to see. Most photographers also edit the crap out of the website photos, but those aren't necessarily as edited when you receive them.

I hope someone can answer your questions. :)

Exactly! You really never know what you're going to get with photographers. I'd love to use my friend who did our engagement photos but I don't think she'll travel to Vegas. =/
I think it's like a couple hundred on top of your package if you want to use an outside photographer but I'm not too positive. I saw $800 somewhere but I'm not sure if that's accurate. We're going down to Vegas next weekend so I'll double check on that.

Unfortunately with the hotel wedding chapels you'd have to use their photographers at least for the ceremony. I'm not sure about the reception though (if the reception is hosted off site you can definitely choose your own photographer) the hotel may require the bride and groom to use the in-house photographer for that as well if the reception is held on site.

Is this most places or just places in Las Vegas? I have never met anyone getting married in a hotel so I don't know if this is standard or not.

It just seems silly to me, I guess, but whatever. I know some places here charge you extra if you don't use an approved vendor. If I had the patience and money... I would start up a wedding venue... seems like they make a killing just because the word "wedding" is involved.

Are you going to talk to them in person? I've heard it's often good to ask photographers to see a full sample set from one wedding, to get a better sense of what you are going to get. Can you ask them to see something similar, and/or if they can give you any contact info for people who used them previously who would give recommendations? They might say no to both, but I don't think it can hurt to ask.

Never thought about doing that before, but I did email the photographers for Caesar's Palace asking if they had any recent photos to show other than what's on the site and their blog. Hopefully they do and they're good.

That's my suggestion, too.

I got married in Vegas last year and we used one of the chapels near the courthouse. The photos were okay. Not bad but not great either. I'm not terrible upset about it because 1) we eloped and 2) the reception pics were what I like better.
I'd try and ask them for individual portfolios for the photographers that they have their. Look at the the type of photos they take and if they have a reference list of people you can call to check them out. Hope this helps.

Those aren't bad at all. I guess it just all depends on who you get as the photographer. Although I think I'll still hire an outside photographer as well for like around the hotel & strip and the reception.

Thank you! :)

They aren't great either. That tilted look gets old very quickly.

I personally like that look, but that's just me. Everyone has different tastes in how they like their photos.
