What about an umbrella for the flower girl? The ring bearer could hold an oyster or starfish?
I'm planning on putting the website on my invite. Regarding RSVP cards for plated dinners, I'm putting little pictures of fish, chicken & beef for the guest to circle. If they want more details they can go to the website! Which is conveniently on the invite!
We had our website on our invites (I have a book to send you, I'll send you one of our invites too...PM me your address)
our flower girl had a little bouquet
Why not have the ring bearer carry some shells? or a shell with the real rings tied in with a ribbon? (drill through the shell two holes) then no worry of dropping it. It might work better in my head than in real life.
Yeah, I ripped your address off the Christmas card and then lost it. I've got everything packed up to send. I activated some of the website http://NicholsAndField.ourwedding.com the one on the invite is now down. Ignore the design they ate the one we used. The rsvp did allow you to pick the correct meal (it doesn't work now since everybody already rsvp'ed).
Our website is on our invitations - that's how we're asking people to RSVP, then when they get to the RSVP page, we link to the menu so they can read through their options in advance.
Also, our website URL was long, so we made a bit.ly/names type of url that redirects to the site.
The invites haven't yet gone out - we have to wait a few more months - so I'm not sure how well received it will be, but I'm not too concerned.
After all that, I forgot to say, why do you need to put the menu options on the save the date? The only purpose of the save the date is to 'save the date'. The other details can wait for the invitations, or you can put those details on the website.
Under your date for the save the date, you could then say something like, "To find out where, check out our website, URL".
That way you get the website out, don't clutter the card, and I've read that people usually don't go to the website unless there is some kind of a push to action.
I think that even if she doesn't do a good job, you could still give the flower girl petals to toss. It also might be cute to let her toss small sea shells. Since she's so small she could have a little basket, and just toss a few, or she could toss sand if you don't mind her hands getting a little messy. You could have the ring bearer carry a shell with sand in it. Most people wouldn't even notice if there were rings it in or not. You could even glue the sand in just put a layer of sand then one of glue over the course of a few days until the shell is full and then it won't spill out when he walks.
Bubble guns would also be pretty cute for both. The flower girl should be able to hold her trigger down easily or you can tape it down for her.
I have to say I am thrilled to death to see someone else who had vegetarian entrees! We had an entirely vegetarian wedding.
Our RSVP card said:
The favour of a reply is requested by the seventeenth of September.

___ accepts ____ declines
Please initial next to your choice of entree:
___penne with pesto ___ mushroom ravioli
OP, you are correct that the website shouldn't go ON the invitation, but you can include a card with "Additional information" that includes the website. You can also write out the detailed descriptions of the entrees there, if you'd like. We didn't have a website, so we used a "travel and accommodations" card which listed the closest airports, the hotel block information, and the information for the shuttle between the hotel and the venues.
Me too! Everyone is making us feel like we are the only people EVER to have all vegetarian food at our wedding- now i know there are at least 2 others!

That said, your response cards can be something like
"x" seats have been reserved in your honour; please indicate meal preferences below:
yes, we can make it!
__ entree 1
__ entree 2
__ entree 3
Regretfully, we can't make it.
(In this example, I'm imagining checkboxes for the yes or no)
