So my FH loves the Marry Me song by Train and we want to play that as the wedding party is walking down the isle. But immediately after the wedding party walks down the aisle, when it is time for me to walk down the aisle, instead of playing the typical Cannon IN D, he wants me to walk down to Mama's song by Carrie Underwood b/c my mom will walk me ( Read more... )

Unless you have a huge bridal party and a very long aisle, it's not going to take very long for them (or you) to walk down the aisle, which makes it tricky to have songs with lyrics as someone mentioned above.

i don't think it is weird to use more than one song with lyrics, but you definitely should choose music YOU want, not just what you think is expected. my wedding party walked in to "only time" by enya and then i walked in to "at my most beautiful" by r.e.m. both have lyrics, but both are kind of slow tempo so it flowed and there was a little transition between the songs because the beginning of "at my most beautiful" has bells and music for a bit before he starts singing and i was almost down the aisle by then.

Like other posters have said, the bridal parties walk down the aisle wont take THAT long, so yeah, I think it would be weird to have one song with lyrics playing for maybe a minute or two, and then cut to a different song with lyrics for even less time...

I am with the consensus and say walk down the aisle to whatever the hell you want!!! (This coming from a bride walking down the aisle to Metalica played on an accoustic guitar ;) )

I get you're not doing a rehearsal, but you might want to wrangle everyone together at somepoint before the wedding just to try and get timing down. That way you can let your DJ know at what times in the song to fade out/in.

Happy Planning!!!

Hmmm... Well I definitely like the Carrie Underwood song, and thought about using that for my mom walking me. Either that or "In My Daughter's Eyes". Ask you DJ and see what he/she thinks.
