I hope it won't be too boring. I know my family would be just fine for 2.5 hours, eating and shooting the breeze, because that's just how they are. My fiance's family is a bit of an unknown to me but hopefully they'll be comfortable and have a good time too.

Shoes: Zappos. I have literally bought and returned maybe 10 pairs of shoes and I'm still deciding between 2. They have free shipping both ways and returns for 365 days. Genius!

Favors: Your favors are awesome. A friend of mine had a November wedding and did those cones and I loved it. Something I could use, would like, and wouldn't sit around collecting dust, yay!

Music: If you want to jazz it up with the music, there is a TON of fun, upbeat holiday songs that are covers of slower, older songs, etc. I love Christmas music so I own a bunch of it.

Fun idea for food/drink: Jazz up the cold lunch buffet by serving hot cider.

If you're worried that it would be boring with no dancing, light music, and no booze, perhaps some games (table or as a group) could work. I think that'd be pretty fun actually.

I had been thinking about serving coffee and hot chocolate when we were cutting the cake but don't know quite how to pull it off. I did see that our venue does rent a really pretty 50-cup coffee urn so maybe I'll have to figure out where to place it. Thank you. :) I had never considered hot cider before especially.

About the shoes, I have to admit I'm not really a dress up and wear nice things kind of person. It's jeans and t-shirts and then scrubs to work for me so I think I'm probably way more indecisive than any one person should be. Zappos should be a big help in that department!

Glad I could help! Searching on zappos is super easy too so I'm kind of in love with it. :-)

I love everything you've picked so far!

I don't think a 2.5 hour reception will be boring. That's probably just long enough - it gives everyone and chance to eat and mingle.

I had no idea Crocs made other shoes beyond the standard! Man, have I been living under a rock or what! Those are actually pretty cute!

i'm wearing crocs, too, after i take off my heels: http://www.crocs.com/crocs-adrina-flat/11238,default,pd.html?cid=52K&cgid=women-translucents

our two main colors are purple and pink so i thought these were perfect. i've already worn them a few times and they're also insanely comfortable! the translucent plastic is softer than the traditional croc plastic and they mold to your feet after awhile.
