Save the Date Question

So, we have yet to make save the date cards since, as my mom keeps telling me, we have time (something like sixteen months). I had this thought that we take pictures with a white board saying 1. I would definitely say something like "Save the date for the reception" because people are going to think they're going to your wedding if you say "We're getting married... save the date!"

I would say something like "Save the Date for the celebration of marriage for Person A & B". When you put are "getting married" I think that they are invited to the ceremony. You might have a lot of disappointed/confused guests.

Pretty sure I have seen a STD a lot like that and I loved it! I think it is definitely appropriate but you might want to emphasize reception. Still, you can add more detail and clarification for actual invites. You have plenty of time, too!
