(Beware, if you don't like lots of photos, this probably isn't the blog for you)

Alright. So I'm in the very beginning stages of planning my wedding. Given that I'm going to Basic Training soon, there isn't a WHOLE lot I can do. I can't even set the date till my SO comes back from deployment and I've reported to my unit. (It's currently deployed, ( Read more... )

Those chairs ARE lovely! I'm not a fan of coating chairs in fabric and bows anyway. :)

And good luck with your planning! I'm not an army bride but round this area (Salisbury, UK) there are loads of army families so I'm aware of what it can be like. Sounds like when you're able to set a date it's going to be beautiful!

I am using DIY (it took a long time) hanging votives for ALL of my table centerpieces. If you are going to DIY hanging votives, I'd be happy to give you info on how I did them. Pretty easy but tedious (because I did 100 of them).

Our venue offers chairs like that but it is pretty expensive to use them rather than chair covers for their other, uglier chairs. I would pay the extra money to use them if gold were somewhere in my color scheme, too. Or if the chairs were black or silver...

I plan on only using hanging votives on my wishing tree. They're pretty but I just really don't want to deal with trying to put them into my centerpieces. Also, at that venue the use of those chairs are included in the cost, as are use of a certain number of tables and white linens. The chairs they use for the ceremony are absolutely HIDEOUS on the other hand. I'm thinking that if I go with this site, I'm going to ask to use the white chairs they use for outdoor weddings instead. Ill pay extra if I have to. I'm just not down with metal and faux leather.

I'm doing a wishing tree too! How are you going about yours? I've never made something like this before, it's a little difficult to imagine..

I'm pretty savvy when it comes to making things myself. Most of the wishing trees I've seen are like this ( ... )
